Exploring how Generative AI can Enhance the UX Workflow

The Michigan Football VIP experience is not matching expectations

Step 1: Defining the Problem

  • Premium pricing for tickets, but there's still friction

  • Parking, food, access unclear

  • No strong sense of exclusivity

App needs to be a luxurious game-day companion suitable for all

Step 2: Research & Understanding Users

01 Competitors Analysis

  • 5 comparators: Features and Value Proposition, Level of Personalization, End-to-end coverage, Time and Friction Reduction, Human Integration in Services

  • Human Verification: Al was finding outdated information when used to go through websites

02 Personas

  • 1 user interview

  • 3 personas: elderly, 2 middle-aged; all with different needs, desires, and responsibilities

Step 3: Creating the Product Requirements Document

Context is key to create an objective aligned PRD

  • Used Al to role-play and give feedback on PRD

  • Its decisions weren't always accurate

  • What is feasible should still be manually verified

  • When prompting, mention goals and needs

Step 4: Prototyping Using Gen AI Tools

Each Al Tool has its Strengths & Limitations, for example:

  • How well it followed the PRD

  • Variations in interpretation

  • Taking creative liberties

Step 5: Conduct Usability Tests

Conducting Usability Tests Al is great for summarization and generating insights

  • Prompted Al to generate questions and tasks, but questions were vague, so I went back to fine tune them

  • Al does not know the visual appearance of my prototype and synthesized wrong insights.

Reflection

Taste matters! Because I am the decision-maker, not the AI!
